Professor Sukanya Sen Gupta

Professor Sukanya Sengupta is a Professor of Management at Royal Holloway College, University of London. She has published widely in the leading peer reviewed international management journals and has won several prestigious awards for her original contribution to research in the areas of Management and Economics. She has held editorial positions in the top international peer reviewed journals. She was on the Editorial Board of Work, Employment and Society and was a Guest Editor for Human Relations. Professor Sengupta has been invited as a Visiting Professor at Cornell University, Ithaca USA (School of Industrial and Labor Relations). Prior to joining Royal Holloway, she was an Associate Professor at Warwick Business School and a Lecturer at Cardiff Business School and also held the coveted role of an AIM Post Doctoral fellow at Warwick Business School under the mentorship of Professor Paul Edwards. Professor Sengupta also has extensive industry experience and has worked full time as a management consultant for Ernst & Young and as a financial analyst for Powergen. Her illustrious career is built on the solid foundations of a PhD from Cardiff University, MSc from the London School of Economics and Gold Medal in BA Hons Economics from St. Xaviers, College, Mumbai. Professor Sengupta is equally proficient in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. Her areas of research expertise include, Employee Share Ownership and Company Performance, Performance Management, Performance Based Pay, Creative and Media Sector, Indian film industry and Small and Medium Enterprises. She has extensive teaching experience at the PhD, Postgraduate and undergraduate levels and has taught on the professional MBA programmes at leading international Universities accross the world.
