Professor Niki Panteli

Personal profile

Niki Panteli is a Professor of Digital Business at the School of Management at Royal Holloway University of London. She previously held academic positions at the University of Bath, Aberdeen University and University of Glasgow. She earned her Phd in Industrial and Business studies from Warwick Business School. Her current research focuses on collaboration and leadership within virtual teams and online communities. She is also interested in the use of information and communication technologies in healthcare and in other forms of distributed work. She has published over 100 journal papers, refereed conference proceedings and book chapters in outlets such as Journal of the Association of Information Systems, Human Relations, Information Systems Journal, Information Technology and People, European Journal of Information Systems, Journal of Health Psychology and Decision Support Systems.  

 

One of her papers (Panteli & Sockaligham, 2005) is  among the top 5% most cited papers in the world in its year of publication, whilst two others are  among the top 10%. Moreover, a third of her publications are with international co-authors, whilst more than 40% are inter-disciplinary (SciVal report, 2015).

 

She chaired IFIP W.G. 9.5 (Virtuality & Society) between the period 2006-09 and currently serves as on the editorial board of Information Technology & People and New Technology, Work and Employment.

 

Professor Panteli welcomes new Phd students for the academic year 2016-17 in any of her areas of interest.
