Abstract

Freight transportation is crucial for efficient supply chain operations, ensuring the smooth movement and timely availability of products. A key decision in freight transportation management is selecting the optimal transportation mode and route for freight movement. Logistics managers play a vital role in making these decisions and should possess a comprehensive understanding of the various factors, both quantitative and qualitative, that influence freight mode choice. The objective of this research is to systematically review the existing literature on decision-making processes regarding modal choices in intermodal freight transportation.
