Abstract

This paper explores how commercial aircraft manufacturers are strategically managing the adoption of hydrogen; a ‘Pacing’ technology capable of causing a future technological paradigm shift within the commercial aviation industry. With these corporate business strategies considered, individual recommendations are then given. These recommendations suggest how best to adopt the decarbonisation technologies strategically to improve competitive position as the technologies mature in competitive impact.
