Personal profile

My interests range broadly over the history of analytic philosophy, from an examination of Russell's and Moore's reaction to British idealism, to the work of Frege, Wittgenstein (both early and late), and to students of Wittgenstein such as Margaret Macdonald and Helen Knight.

I am also interested in the philosophy of logic and language, as well as in the philosophy of science and social science.

I have taught a variety of courses at Royal Holloway, including 'Introduction to Formal Logic', 'Tutorial Special Study', 'Issues in Ethics', 'Metaphysics', 'Rationalism and Empiricism', and 'Aesthetics'.
