The Department of Politics, International Relations and Philosophy is a part of the School of Law and Social Sciences. It prides itself in interdisciplinary teaching and inquiry. The Department provides a full range of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes. We carry out research across the different disciplines, but we place special emphasis on our research centres and clusters: the Contemporary Political Theory Research Group, the Centre for International Security, the Centre for Continental Philosophy, the Democracy and Elections Centre, the Centre for Islamic and West Asian Studies, the Global Politics and Development Centre, and the New Political Communication Unit.
