Personal profile

During my scientific carrier I carried research in a few fields:

-       mesoscopic superconductivity and proximity effects

-       semiconductor quantum dot in application to terahertz imaging

-       study of electrons on surface of liquid helium

-       study of new semiconductor diode lasers.

All projects are based on advancement in micro and nanofabrication technologies and new phenomena in low dimensional structures. Discovery of long range superconducting proximity effects in mesoscopic systems, single photon detection of terahertz radiation, manipulation of individual electrons on surface of liquid helium, and development of powerful single mode laser are main achievements.

Currently I concentrate on passive terahertz imaging in application to security and health screening, and high power diode lasers. Research is carried out in collaboration with National Physical Laboratory (UK), Nippon Telegraph Telephone Corp (Japan), Tokyo University (Japan), Chalmers University (Sweden), ISSP RAS (Russia), IPMT RAS (Russia), GN Optics Ltd (Russia)
