Research interests

Molecular plant pathology

  • Investigating the role of effector proteins from the obligate fungal pathogen Blumeria graminis, the causal agent of barley powdery mildew.
  • Establishing improved methods for In planta silencing of fungal effector proteins during infection.
  • Developing tools for the study of the strawberry powdery mildew plant pathogen interaction.
  • Biotic and abiotic stress in plants, in general, with focus on reactive oxygen species.

Quantitative plant (crop) proteomics

  • Adapting quantitative plant proteomics based mass spectromery to crops, focusing on aspects of abiotic and biotic stresses in Brassicas. Stable Isotope labeling with N15 using hydroponics.
