Abstract
You are my Joan of Arc is a collage essay that investigates the historical metamorphosis of the saint from a religious and nationalist icon to a figure in feminist and trans-masculine thought.
It was published in Rupture, Rapture: Womxn in Collage, Scotland's first survey and exhibition of collage art by contemporary womxn artists. Bringing together 17 womxn artists with diverse approaches, this project consisting of exhibition, residency and publication challenges the notion of collage as a fixed category or form - instead, it reveals collage as a feminist praxis of transformation, rupture, and collision.
