Abstract
This is a manifesto-cum-performance document, relating practice-as-research in a non-traditional format for the forthcoming issue of Platform Journal of Theatre and Performing Arts (Sep 2013). This takes the form of a quasi-poetic exploration of, and argument for, paidia (anarchic play) in theatrical practice as a means of pursuing an "alive" theatre that combats the too-often "vampiric" theatre of the West End. It includes an impressionistic account of relevant rehearsal techniques and explorations conducted at the Grotowski Institute, Poland (the Brzezinka forest base) in June 2013.
