Abstract
It is difficult to assess the overall impact of the conference. It certainly had a significant media impact within Bolivia, but what influence will be felt beyond that is uncertain. Perhaps one lesson to take away is that if a country with the severely limited resources of Bolivia was able to put this together so quickly (albeit with considerable international support), then the potential for wealthier countries to organise even more highly influential gatherings must be enormous. Let us hope that this potential can be realised in some measure over the coming months.
