Abstract
This paper examines the rise of the current generation of climate protest movements in the UK and outlines the government backlash against them. It explores the historical nature of eco-terrorism in a UK context and seeks to examine the potential for radicalisation within the current protest milieu. In doing so, it draws on some of our current understanding around the drivers of terrorism and radicalisation, and examines how and where these might apply in the context of contemporary protest movements amid a deepening climate crisis.
