Description
This was a two month project researching the impact of a translanguaging approach to creative writing. Students had seven weeks of multi/translingual writing workshops during which they wrote poetry. I then conducted focus interviews with the children and their teacher and a group of their parents to explore the impact of a translanguaging approach to writing on their literacy skills, their self-esteem and their feelings of inclusion in the classroom. I am currently writing up my findings into an academic article. I have used the findings of this project to deliver CPD training for teachers and in schools. I printed the children's poetry in an anthology which will also be published digitally on my rpoject website, which is currently under construction.
