Dr Plamen Dinev joined Royal Holloway as Lecturer in 2023. Prior to this, he was Lecturer in Law at Goldsmiths between 2020-23 and taught at City during 2016-20.

Plamen's research focuses on IP and technology, drawing on legal and empirical methods. He has published in journals including IPQ, EIPR, JIPLP, and his monograph on 3D printing will be published with Hart. In 2023, his work on AI was cited in an amicus brief submitted to the US Supreme Court (Thaler v Vidal).

Plamen received the Modern Law Review Scholarship for 2018-19.

He has convened modules including IP law, AI law, and art law, and he is a guest contributor on the Diploma in AI and IP at the University of Strasbourg. He has held various administrative positions, including Chair of Examiners.
