Dr Plamen Dinev joined Royal Holloway as Lecturer in 2023. Prior to this, he was Lecturer in Law at Goldsmiths between 2020-23 and taught at City during 2016-20.

Plamen's research focuses on IP and technology, drawing on legal and empirical methods. He has published in journals including Intellectual Property Quarterly, European Intellectual Property Review, and Journal of Intellectual Property Law & Practice. His monograph on 3D printing will be published with Hart.

His work on AI was cited in a Singapore Government (IPO) report in 2024, and in a submission to the US Supreme Court in 2023 (Thaler v Vidal).

Plamen received the Modern Law Review Scholarship for 2018-19.

He has convened modules including IP law, AI law, and art law, and he is a guest contributor on the Diploma in AI and IP at the University of Strasbourg.
