Personal profile

Mariya Eranova (Southey) received her PhD from the University of Nottingham Ningbo China. A Sinologist by training, she worked as a chief representative of a Russian company in China prior to her doctoral studies. Mariya's managerial experience and time spent in China have informed her research interests that include strategy process, paradox theory and East-West differences in decision-making. Her research has been published in Asia Pacific Journal of Management, Long Range Planning and European Management Journal. Recently she took part in QAA-funded research project aimed at exploring the ways to enhance curriculum design for diverse student populations. 

Mariya's academic career is focused around developing large-scale undergraduate modules and designing online modules for Coursera programmes. Currently she is holding a role of Course Director for MSc International Business Management.
