I am a Registered Forensic and Chartered Psychologist currently working as a Lecturer in Forensic Psychology at Royal Holloway University of London. I previously worked at Her Majesty's Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS), UK. My responsibilities included providing psychological consultation, evaluating prisoners' vulnerability to radicalisation, administering complex risk assessments, and creating and implementing rehabilitation and treatment plans for terrorist offenders and other violent offenders.
I also provided expert witness testimony for Parole Boards, the Local Advisory Panel for Category A review tribunals, and Multi-Agency Public Protection Meetings, and supervised trainee psychologists undertaking psychological assessments and treatment of violent and sex offenders. I have been praised for the quality of my work both within the HMPPS and in a public forum, and received a Safety award from the HMPPS Directorate of Security Psychology Services Group.
My key areas of specialism include:
Providing high-quality consultancy services concerning terrorism, extremism, and prison radicalisation with a specialist focus on forensic psychology and the PREVENT strategy.
Demonstrating expertise in offence analysis, PREVENT strategy work, and case formulation in severe violence and terrorism.
Performing psychological evaluations and prisoner profiles using overt and covert information to analyse the level of vulnerability to radicalisation.
Conducting complex high-quality risk assessments that address the risk of violence, extremism, radicalisation, mental health and vulnerability in offenders.
Carrying out individual and group therapy for offenders with a conviction for a terrorist offence, those vulnerable to extremism and for those with personality disorders and other complex presentations.
