Ph.D. student with research interests in Late Antiquity and Byzantium, especially the later Byzantine periods 1081-1460. My doctoral research focusses on the trends of Late Byzantine historiography, most notably the models and influences employed by Byzantine writers to inspire and inform their own works. My thesis will explore the the influences of Micheal Kritovoulos' History of Mehmed the Conqueror and how Kritovoulos made extensive use of Classical, Byzantine, and western models to inform his writing.
Before commencing my Ph.D. I completed my B.A. in History and M.A. in Late Antique and Byzantine Studies, both at Royal Holloway, where I am still based for my current research.
