Abstract

This co-authored book examines the prolific and extraordinary output of artist Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960-88). In particular it focuses on the highly distinctive works he produced using Xeroxed drawings as a basis for further interventions with paint, oil crayon and other media. These works are considered in relation to other pioneering artistic experiments throughout the twentieth century.
