Abstract

An artist finds success beneath his flesh. A critic of a two-hundred-year-old text is confronted by its author. An unnamed woman, buried to her neck in books, tries to escape the literary canon. In a writers' workshop, truths are told but no words spoken.

Connecting these macabre tales is Michael, an aspiring writer. In a tower block in London where some find success, but most are churned out, he tries to understand what it is to create art.

Dark and experimental, The Writers' Block grapples with aspiration, practice, writing and failure. As Michael's self-doubt surfaces, his work may be lost forever. The only escape is to write.
