N2 - After the publication of the human genome sequence in February 2001[1], public and private efforts are undertaken to extract valuable information from the wealth of data[2,3]. In our approach we systematically extract all human genes, known and unknown, analyse them in a consistent manner to find out their (possible) function and refine the annotation manually if necessary. All informations are stored in a relational database that can be accessed via a web-based user interface.
