Abstract

This article explores two key relationships in the Mughal royal family, those between fathers and sons and between husbands and wives. It examines the emotions involved. It sees how they come to be reflected, recorded even, in momuments. It is based on memoirs by Mughals and Western visitors, histories, official and unofficial and correspondence between Mughals.
