Abstract

Recording of a recreation of the original orchestra music performed with this film in 1924, a part-compiled score by Eugene Goossens Snr and Frederick Laurence. The DVD also contains as 'extras' performances of the original orchestral prelude music, a recording of the Tibetan lamas who in 1924 performed live on stage, as well as a suite of piano pieces 'The Mount Everest Suite', the sheet music of which was sold to help raise funding for the 1924 expedition. Andrew Gourlay conducts the Cambridge University Chamber Orchestra for the film score; Julie Brown performs the piano suite.
