Abstract

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) represent a continuation of the global agreement on development targets achieved through the previous Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). However, there are significant changes, most notably in the range of goals and the inclusion of Global North, as well as Global South countries. This Viewpoint outlines some of the shifts and examines their implications for international development planning.
