Abstract

This paper studies how technology-based incubators and accelerators are changing entrepreneurship practices and cultures in developing and emerging contexts. Drawing on Bourdieu’s concepts of capital and field we study entrepreneurship practices and processes in vivo and in situ of a specific technology-based incubator in Pakistan (Plan9). We illustrate and discuss how the legitimacy for new entrepreneurial practices is created, and new fields emerge, through the accumulation and conversion across different forms of capital, within and across fields.
