Abstract

solo performance co-devised with film maker Inga Burrows (The University of South Wales) with live music by Rob Smith, ‘home landing’ attempts to create a contemporary folk dance to be performed in the restricted space of a modestly sized kitchen. The dance is solo yet references a dance usually performed in community. It addresses in part notions of my relationship to ‘welshness’, asking “what’s (my) performance for welshness?” (echoing Heike Roms’ research “what’s welsh for performance?”)
