Feminism: Seeing Gender in Global Politics

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter (peer-reviewed)peer-review

Abstract

This chapter begins with a discussion of the meaning of gender and moves to discussing the study of gender, generally and in the discipline of IR specifically. It then explores the contribution of feminist work to the study of global politics, as both a whole field of “feminist IR” and then as different feminisms uniquely. After laying that groundwork, the chapter briefly discusses feminist contributions to two major areas in IR: security and political economy.
