Étienne Nicolas Méhul: Symphony No. 1 in G minor

Research output: Other contribution

Abstract

This presents the only modern edition (to date) of Méhul's single minor-mode symphony, a score better known to the nineteenth century (e.g. to Mendelssohn, Schumann, Sterndale Bennett, through the composer's original published edition) than to the following ones. It is regularly recorded, however. The Editor's introduction includes full background, performing history, performance practice discussion, information on sources, bibliography and critical apparatus.
