Abstract

This book proposes a new way to consider creativity in management education that invites us
(educators) and others to rediscover ourselves. After an initial critical analysis using Foucault’s
governmentality to identify how creativity is being conduced in management education, diverse
initiatives to nurture it are examined and a systemic paradox identified for individuals: to gain
membership of ‘wholes’ whilst already being part of them. Addressing this paradox requires a further contextualising of governmentality so that a systemic space for individual selves could be developed. Ideas on play and seriousness are spirited to offer us possibilities to rediscover who we have been and who we could be in management education. A series of self-narratives are presented in the form of games to help the reader identify herself with them and consider challenges and opportunities for Individuals and their educational environments. The book concludes with important reflections, implications and guidelines for the nurturing in creativity in management education and life in general.
