Abstract

The chapter examines the factors that attract and retain visual artists in Toronto. In particular, we consider the role that cultural diversity plays in fostering experimentation and creativity. We show that the presence of multicultural diversity is not enough to retain artists unless it is accompanied by meaningful inclusion and equality.
