Abstract

This book is the first major English-language study of Blaise Cendrars for a generation. It examines the literary output of this inventive French writer and the genres in which he innovated, including poetry, essays, film scripts, novels, short prose fiction, biographies and memoirs. The book considers the complex interaction in his work of retelling a given reality and inventing new ones.
