The essay discusses Henry Price as the central figure in Conrad's story, 'An Outpost of Progress'. This story is the other story Conrad wrote based on his experiences in the Congo. The essay then explores the implications of Henry Price (and this story as a whole) for understanding Conrad's representation of Africa and Africans.
