Abstract

Seguono tre appendici documentarie.

Although never producing an edition of Orlando Furioso, Lodovico Domenichi edited Boiardo’s Orlando Innamorato and Pulci’s Morgante with the aim of incorporating them within a genre championed by Ariosto’s poem. This essay demonstrates that, in his editions of Boiardo’s and Pulci’s poems, Domenichi followed faithfully in the footsteps of both Ariosto and Bembo, and this is consonant with the cultural opposition between the area including Venice and Ferrara, on the one hand, and that of Florence, on the other hand. Three appendixes are included.
