Description

Masters by Research project regarding a case study of the integration of a Hydrogen Storage scheme to the UK power grid in order to fulfill shortages in renewable energy generation from wind and solar energy. Excess renewable energy generation from wind farms is utilized for Electrolysis in order to produce pure Hydrogen for underground storage of energy. Stored Hydrogen is produced from the underground storage formation to Hydrogen turbines schematically to fulfill shortages in renewable energy generation and as a result be able to solely depend on renewable energy sources with no carbon dioxide emissions, significantly reducing our dependency on harmful carbon emissions.
