Description

The Culture Industry. No emancipation without that of society. The whole is the false. Happiness is obsolete: uneconomic. No poetry after Auschwitz. Truth-content. Life has become the ideology of its own absence. Art is magic delivered from the lie of being truth. Negative Dialectics. The task of art today is to bring chaos into order. Wrong life cannot be lived rightly. True thoughts are those alone which do not understand themselves. Intelligence is a moral category.

The Adorno Reading Group was set up in September 2011 for MA and PhD students studying at the University of London colleges interested in reading and discussing Theodor W. Adorno's texts.

The group meets fortnightly and is open to students of all disciplines. We can also be found on Facebook (Adorno Reading Group).

To begin the new academic year, we will be reading various aphorisms from Minima Moralia.
