Monograph on the witchcraft plays of Elizabethan and Jacobean England

Product of twenty years teaching and thinking about these plays for u/g course EN2012.

Largely discarding the notion that there is a genre of 'witchcraft play', the monograph looks in unprecedented detail at the two central plays that actually did address historical witchcraft cases, 'The Witch of Edmonton' and 'The Late Lancashire Witches'.
