Early Music Online

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

Early Music Online is a pilot project that has digitised over 300 volumes of the world’s earliest printed music from holdings at the British Library, and made them publicly accessible via Royal Holloway's open-access research repository. The project has upgraded the catalogue records for these digitised volumes to allow them to be searched by composer name, title of composition and place of publication. Full metadata for the digitised volumes is included in the British Library catalogue (http://explore.bl.uk) and the RISM UK database (www.rism.org.uk), with links to the digitised content.
