Project Details

Description

Loess deposits in parts of Eastern Europe reach considerable thicknesses and record dust sedimentation for over 1 million years. This project aims to use a variety of methods to constrain the timing and nature of long term and abrupt shifts in dust deposition in this region, particularly in Serbia. Optically stimulated luminescence (OSL), magnetostratigraphic and aminostratigraphic methods are all being used to this end, alongside integrated sedimentological analysis.
