Personal profile

Lisa Lin is a Visiting Tutor and PhD Candidate at the Department of Media Arts. Having been working as a documentary producer in the UK, China and Singapore including works for Nat Geo Asia and One World Media (UK), Lisa hopes to bring her professional experience to higher education and ethnographic investigation of television production across South East Asia and Europe, and produce critical reports for both academia and professional communities.

Supervised by Professor James Bennett whose research projects cover social media production and multiplatform public service broadcasters in the UK, Lisa has been investigating the current landscape of Chinese multi-platform television as her doctoral thesis. She is particularly interested in the shifting production cultures of Chinese Internet-distributed television and the rise of creative freedoms among Chinese media workers.
