Personal profile

Having originally worked as an Economist and in the management of secondary schools, I am delighted to  have now the opportunity to pursue my lifelong fascination with the neuroscience of emotion and the self.My principal interest is in how interoceptive signals contribute to the human sense of self - influencing cognition, emotion, decision-making and other aspects of self-processing. This links to the research fields of embodiment and evolutionary psychology, which are consequently also amongst my major interrests. My PhD, supervised by Prof Manos Tsakiris, was concerned with the effects of interoceptive awareness on self-processing.
