Mr Taimur Mirza

Personal profile

An innovative and ambitious Postdoctoral researcher in the field of Photonics, with a strong background in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. I have completed the PhD on a topic of Suppression of Nonlinear distortions in the Radio-over-fibre systems. The core focus of my research was on the improvement of the system’s dynamic range for various applications such as downconversion, upconversion, Multi-octave link, and high bandwidth wireless and radar signal processing in Optical domain. The novel contributions have been submitted for journal publications and for Patent application, which was supported by industry. During my research, I have received research funding of £8000 from Leonardo MW UK and £10,500 from the National Aerospace Technology Exploitation Programme (NATEP). My current research interests are in Photonics, Optical communication, and Power & control systems. I have also been actively involved in the other research projects, writing research proposals, teaching and lab demonstrations, which is shown in the experience section.
