Research interests

I am Director of the Virtual Reality, joint between Psychology, Computer Science and Electronic Engineering, read about the work here.
This is work from my Integrated Cognitive User assistance project.

My research in Visual Perception covers three main areas:
1. How a population of neurons codes for the overall perception of space, time and motion
* The link between individual neuron response and the final population response responsible for the percept.
* The encoding of the duration of time and motion.
* The role of local and global motion in optic flow from forward motion in natural scenes.
2.  How spatial and temporal context changes perception
* The dynamics of adaptation over time.
* The automatic detection visual temporal patterns by the brain.
* The interaction of different visual attributes.
3. The role of eye movements in visual perception
* How eye movements affect motion information.
* What aspects of a visual scene guide our eye movements.
