Simon graduated from the University of Sussex in June 2014 with a First
Class Honours Degree in Computer Science. His final year undergraduate
project involved creating an SSH honeypot written in the programming
language C and the analysis of various types of malicious software
(malware). This project was awarded the British Computer Society's Best
Final Year Project Prize. More information about the project can be found at
Prior to embarking on the undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Simon
studied business full-time at Bournemouth & Poole College for two years,
worked in industry for a number of years as a website developer and
undertook various entrepreneurial ventures.
In September 2014 Simon joined the Centre for Doctoral Training in Cyber
Security, part of the Information Security Group at Royal Holloway,
University of London.
