Personal profile

I completed my Psychology BSc at University College London and have now started a PhD at Royal Holloway University London. My work focuses on how different types of achievement-related goals (e.g. aiming to publicise one's competence or to learn new things) can affect important academic outcome variables such as effort and attainment.
I am also interested in Stereotype Threat, which refers to the phenomenon wherein members of groups that are subject to negative intellectual stereotypes perform worse in testing situations that make those stereotypes salient. I aim to explore the ways in which conceptual similarities between Stereotype Threat and achievement goal research can be used to derive novel hypotheses, thereby advancing understanding in both fields.
