Pnina Shinebourne is working on a Creative Writing and Contemporary Poetics Phd, for which she has received the university’s Crossman Research Scholarship. Her academic thesis is titled “Seriality in Contemporary Poetry”. It explores the serial form in poetry, in particular the writings of several contemporary poets working in a serial mode, including Anne Carson and Lisa Robertson. The creative writing component of her PhD is composed of a number of long serial poetry sequences.

She won the Wasafiri New Writing Prize 2014 and her pamphlet A Suburb of Heaven won the Venture/flipped eye poetry pamphlet award 2014. Her previous pamphlet, Radioactive, was published in 2013 with Poetry Salzburg. Her collection Pike in a Carp Pond is planned for publication in 2017 with Smokestack Books.

Pnina is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at Middlesex University.
