Research interests

Oliver’s doctoral thesis, provisionally entitled Building and Dwelling: The Structure and Experience of Narrative Worlds in Contemporary British and American Fiction focuses on the relationship between the experientially constituted ‘worlds’ of fictional beings and the linguistically constructed, ontological structures that contain them, in order to investigate the play of place and personhood in the contemporary novel.
