Personal profile

Mr Bock-Brown is a PhD researcher in the Geography and Information Security departments at Royal Holloway, University of London, and is supervised by Professors Peter Adey and Lizzie Coles-Kemp. His work relates to future autonomous mobilities, explored through lenses of (in)security and narrative. The research uses novel participatory futures practices to explore risks and possibilities associated with future mobilities, with a goal of informing strategy and shaping more equitable futures attentive to the needs and experiences of diverse groups. This futures-focused approach looks to address the harms and insecurities associated with current automobility systems by employing long-term thinking and foresight practices. The output of this research is expected to include a set of principles for shaping a fairer and more successful future at a variety of scales, and will seek to identify potential impediments to a transition alongside good examples of future mobilities. Alongside this work, he has also been a part of a joint research project with Monash University on Just Transitions to Decarbonisation in Australia.
