Nick Hatton is a Leverhulme doctoral candidate at Royal Holloway, University of London. His project focuses on internet voting in non-governmental elections in the UK, exploring normative attitudes towards voting as a ritual and the motives for individual support or rejection of the internet as a voting medium.

His research interests include comparative electoral law, voter turnout and behaviour, and normative attitudes towards the ritual of voting.

He previously worked in IT and as a course leader in further education.
