Mohammad R. Kalantari is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in International Relations of the Middle East and Director of Centre for Islamic & West Asian Studies at Department of Politics, International Relations, and Philosophy. His research interest lies in the International Relations of the Middle East with particular focus on the interaction of regional doctrines, elite ideologies, and political Islam.

Currently, he is working on a project which aims to introduce an original network toolkit to develop a multi-levelled mapping of the structure of the IR of the Middle East. 

He has collaborated actively with policymakers and researchers in various inter-disciplinary projects addressing the contemporary affairs of the Middle East and the Muslim World.
