Working Thesis Title - 'Cry God for Edward, England, and Great Piles of Cash': A Study of Edward IV's army and the 1475 Invasion of France'

Major research areas include the recruitment, financing and mobilisation of the late fifteenth-century English army, particularly during Edward IV's abortive French expedition. Wider research areas include the evolution of European military theory from the fourth century BC to the 20th century AD, and the political relationship between the State and its military throughout history. Other subjects of interest include: Roman Republican history; the fall of the Roman Empire; the Crusades; the Wars of the Roses; and World War Two.
