Personal profile

Personal profile

I am a professional practice focused academic specialising in Public Humanities. My practice focus means that in addition to teaching and producing traditional research outputs, I devise, secure funding for, and deliver a wide range of public facing, collaborative projects, often with a focus on democratic heritage and the history of rights and representation.

Partnership working is key to most of my projects and I've been fortunate to have had the opportunity to collaborate with partners including the Black Cultural Archives, the History of Parliament Trust, the National Archives, the National Trust, People's History Museum, the UK Parliament and the UK Supreme Court. I also work closely with a number of local history museums and I am a Trustee of Egham Museum.

I am also the Director of External Engagement for the School of Humanities, a role that includes developing partnerships around collaborative research, teaching and public engagement. Additionally, I am the creator and producer of the educational History Hub YouTube channel, launched as part of the National Lottery Heritage Fund supported 'Citizens: 800 years in the making' project.
